About Midwifery Care

Midwife means "with woman".

There are different paths to Midwifery and different kinds of midwives. I am a Certified Nurse Midwife. This means I have a Masters Degree in Nursing and Post Masters Certificate in Nurse Midwifery. I had to complete graduate school and take a test through the ACMB to become licensed. Currently I hold a Midwifery license in Virginia and my West Virginia license is pending.

As a CNM, I have prescriptive authority and I can administer medications. I could practice in a hospital setting but I choose to be a home birth midwife.

As a Midwife, It is important to me to provide holistic, evidence based, and compassionate care that improves the overall well-being of each woman while giving her confidence and pride concerning her body.
