Primary Care of Women

Well Woman Care.....these words, though they sound simple enough, often cause dread in women. We often think of cold exam tables, cold speculums, and brisk appointments that we wish we didn't have to endure. Please know it doesn't have to be this way!

Pregnancy Care

Whether its your first or your fifth, pregnancy is a very exciting time for sure. It can also be a time of growth, learning, and lots of questions. Pregnancy care is not just about your growing baby, its about you as a Mom and your family, and your over all health. For this reason, our visits are not rushed and we spend an hour together. My goal is to make your life a little easier as as well and I come to you for your appointments.  I become familiar with you, your children, and your home.  This allows us to develop a strong and trusting relationship, the importance of which I cannot stress enough. By the time your baby decides to arrive, you will no longer feel as though you are in a vulnerable position. You will be birthing with a trusted friend and birth team.

Home Birth including Water Birth

Home birth is my passion! Your midwife comes to you, there is no agonizing car ride, there is not change in location. You are home, in your element, in your own space where you are more in control.
For me as a Midwife, there is something serene and secure about tucking a new family into bed, feeding them a hearty meal, and walking out their front door. Its like the world is at peace.
I LOVE water birth.  Laboring and birthing in the water are wonderful options for your birth.  You decide where you wish to birth, I just follow.

Newborn Care

It is within my scope of practice to care for the normal newborn up to six weeks of age.

Those first six weeks are full of questions and little unexpected things pop up.

I am available to walk you through these, be it a newborn rash or breastfeeding concerns.

You are not on your own and I will be seeing both of you at least three times after your baby is born, up to five times if you need me.
